Bringing meditation in as a daily habit is a gamechanger for your performance.

Here's 5 benefits of meditating for pro hoopers:

1️⃣ Mind-Body Connection: Meditation helps you connect your mind and body, enhancing your awareness of your movements on the court. This heightened self-awareness can improve your agility and coordination.

2️⃣ Focus and Concentration: Pure performance demands razor-sharp focus. Meditation hones your concentration skills, allowing you to stay in the zone and make those crucial plays.

3️⃣ Stress Management: The pressure of high-stakes games can take a toll. Meditation reduces stress, helping you stay cool under pressure and make better decisions when it matters most.

I personally crave simplicity. It's not that I wan

I personally crave simplicity. It's not that I want or expect things to be easy, it's not that I don't put in the work (I hustle, I don't personally see this as a negative), but I want things to be simple. I know this is where the magic happens.

For me personally, simplicity looks like:

🔑 Working with a small number of clients

🔑 Planning out my time and reducing decision fatigue

🔑 Having morning and evening routines that support my high performance

🔑 Having one clear goal in mind but being process focused

🔑 Running a lifestyle business

Simplicity brings laser focus. I see overwhelm being a running theme right now with client conversations. There's lots of plates spinning, your attention is needed on multiple things at any one time, and it's exhausting. I get it, I coach clients through it, and I've been there myself.

What happens though is that all these plates spinning are taking up energy and brain power, which in turn can impact on court performance because your brain isn't used to going all in, focusing on the present, being in the moment, being in flow.

Slow it down.

What is important right now? Go all in, focus on this. Focus on one thing at a time.

It gets to be simple.

I was talking with other coaches about this the other day, how I work in a simple way, I'm clear on my goal and I'm clear on how I want to get there, through simplicity. Another coach said "simplicity is badass."

That phrase has stuck with me. You know what, simplicity is pretty badass.

Are your habits serving your or are they getting in your way of achieving excellence? 🤔

The empowering thought is that you get to change your habits, to bring in ones that will support you as a high performer 🚀

One way to do this is to get clear on your vision, longer-term and your shorter-term goals (I like to plan in 12 weeks for this), and then consider habits you can bring in daily that will serve you to think, feel and act in the way you desire.

Start small, bringing in 1-3 daily non-negotiables that will support you with high performance.

My personal ones are:

➡️ Journaling

➡️ Going for a walk

➡️ Meditating

Spoiler, when you start showing up as your best self off the court this shines through on the court 🏀
