Your brain is working for you, not against you, the key is knowing how to optimise it for peak performance. This is where I come in!
Ever wondered why you buy a car and then see the exact make and model on the road? Or how you can hear your name in a crowded room? This is your Reticular Activating System (RAS).
The RAS is a bundle of nerves at our brain stem which filters out unnecessary information so that the important stuff gets through.
The amazing thing is we can tap into this to help us achieve more and turn our dreams into a reality.
Do you ever spend time vision making? As high performers I’d say this is one of our critical daily habits. Spend time thinking about what it would be like to win the match, to make the money you desire, to have the relationship you crave. Get super clear on this, write it down, say it out loud, create a vision board, find what works with you.
Spend time with your vision every single day, really get connected to it, connect to the emotional side – how will it feel to achieve this?
I’ll take basketball as an example, imagine you’re on the court, how does it feel, who can you see, what can you hear, what is the environment like? Now go further, what are the steps you will take to win that match, play it over and over in your mind. Now imagine winning, how does the sound change, what do you see, hear, feel? Play it over and over in your mind, get clear on it, think of it when you go to bed, imagine it with you wake up.
The clearer you get, the RAS is going to start filtering out opportunities for you to achieve this. You will get laser focused on what’s important, what you need to do.
Tell yourself that there is no other way that this can go down, you will achieve what you set out to achieve. It’s coming to you, tap into your brain, it’s working for you.
