Hi I’m Dr Rosie Mead, I’m a Mental Performance coach for pro basketball players looking to unlock their limitless potential on and off the court.
My background is varied. I came into the sports psychology world through my research in music psychology and music sociology. Initially my interest lay in the role that music could play in improving sports performance through psychological and physiological responses to music stimulus.
But this on it’s own wasn’t ticking the box for me. I began working with endurance athletes incorporating my music-based approaches, amongst more mindset focused work, to support the athlete to take on incredible challenges.
As the wife of a triathlete I also knew from experience that lifestyle design played a significant role in high performance, and in achieving goals.
Over the years I have worked with many endurance athletes, and I was the mental performance coach for Guinness World Record holder Andy Stone.
When I signed my first basketball player, I fell in love with the sport! The work I had been having success with in the endurance space also started to see significant results in the basketball world. And the rest is history!
I niched into basketball and haven’t looked back. I currently work with players and coaches in the NBA, G League, EuroLeague, EuroCup and BBL.
Following on from completing a Doctorate in Sociology and a Masters in Psychology, I also went on to complete certifications in mental performance coaching, brain coaching and life coaching.
I am a learning junkie, and I make sure my clients are getting the cutting edge tools to unlock their limitless potential on and off the court.
I’m unconventional in my approach to high performance on the basketball court. No cookie cutter model here. It’s about getting to know the individual, everything that’s going on for them off the court as well as on. Then we look at where they might be getting in their own way, and ways they can optimise their mindset, habits and lifestyle to ensure their fulfil their potential.
